Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup fine cracker crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomato juice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. catsup
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire

Instructions

  1. Roll the ground beef, chopped onion, green pepper, salt, cracker crumbs, beaten egg, and milk into approximately 1-inch balls; turn in flour.
  2. Brown the meat balls in oil until evenly browned.
  3. Combine tomato juice, salt, catsup, Worcestershire, and optional red hot pepper and chili powder in a baking dish.
  4. Add the browned meat balls to the sauce mixture.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until heated through and flavors meld.
