Hot Tuna Bake
A hearty baked tuna casserole with melty mozzarella, green peppers, and seasoned eggs, perfect for a comforting family dinner or quick weeknight meal.

- Place 4 slices of toasted bread in a buttered 6-cup shallow baking dish.
- Drain tuna; combine with chopped green pepper, diced onion, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a small bowl.
- Stir in half the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Spread the tuna mixture over the bread slices.
- Top with the remaining 4 slices of toasted bread.
- Beat the eggs in a medium-sized bowl; stir in milk, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and crumbled oregano.
- Pour the milk mixture over the bread layers; sprinkle with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Press the bread down into the milk mixture before baking.
- Bake in a moderate oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- Remove from oven; let stand 10 minutes before serving.
