Soft, fluffy icebox dinner rolls with a slightly sweet flavor, perfect for accompanying meals or special gatherings. They develop flavor through refrigeration and baking to golden perfection.

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
- Cream shortening with sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg until well combined.
- Add the yeast mixture to the egg mixture and beat well.
- Add salt and flour to the mixture.
- Stir with a wooden spoon until a smooth dough forms.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes.
- Grease the surface of the dough with melted shortening.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
- When ready to bake, pull off golf ball-sized pieces of dough.
- Shape into balls and let rise for 1 1/2 hours.
- Bake 12 rolls at a time on a greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes.
