Iced Salad
A crisp, refreshing layered salad featuring crunchy vegetables, creamy mayonnaise, and savory Parmesan, perfect for summer gatherings and light, flavorful meals.

Instructions
- Break the head of lettuce into large pieces and place in a large salad bowl.
- Chop the celery, green bell pepper, and green onions, then layer over the lettuce.
- Drain the can of tiny English peas and add them to the salad.
- Drain the can of water chestnuts, if using, and add to the salad.
- Spread about 2 cups of mayonnaise over the layered vegetables, smoothing into an even layer.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the mayonnaise layer.
- Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sugar over the cheese, if desired.
- Cover the bowl with Saran Wrap and refrigerate overnight or for several hours.
- Before serving, add bacon bits on top of the salad.
- Toss the salad gently to blend flavors and serve.
