- Beat the warm milk, sugar, salt, shortening, and flour with a beater until smooth.
- Add the eggs and the yeast cakes dissolved in warm water.
- Beat until the mixture is smooth.
- Grease a bowl and the top of the dough.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until 1 1/2 times its size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Punch down the dough and shape into rolls.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
