Ingredients

  • 2 lb. pinto beans
  • 2 lb. lean cooked ham
  • 1/2 lb. lean salt pork
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 small can Ortega taco sauce
  • 1 small can diced green chiles
  • 1 large can tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Cut the cooked ham into small pieces.
  2. Add all ingredients to the soaked beans, adding just enough water to cover the beans.
  3. Cook slowly until the beans are tender, approximately 5 to 6 hours.
