Ingredients

  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. pitted prunes
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cook and chop prunes.
  2. Blend sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture, alternately with the milk.
  3. Add nuts and prunes; mix well.
  4. Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
  5. Bake at 300° for 1 hour.
  6. When done, remove from oven and frost while hot, using Buttermilk Frosting.
