Ingredients

  • 1 box Town House crackers
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Prepare a cookie sheet and lay a long piece of aluminum foil on the counter for easy cleanup.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and margarine together, then stir in the brown sugar until the mixture thickens, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped walnuts to the sauce and mix well.
  5. Line the crackers on the cookie sheet, spacing them evenly.
  6. Using a teaspoon, spoon a small amount of the butter-sugar-walnut mixture onto each cracker, or less if preferred.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, transfer the cookies onto the foil to cool completely.
  9. Store the cooled cookies in the refrigerator to keep them crisp.
