- Prepare a cookie sheet and lay a long piece of aluminum foil on the counter for easy cleanup.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and margarine together, then stir in the brown sugar until the mixture thickens, about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Add the chopped walnuts to the sauce and mix well.
- Line the crackers on the cookie sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Using a teaspoon, spoon a small amount of the butter-sugar-walnut mixture onto each cracker, or less if preferred.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven, transfer the cookies onto the foil to cool completely.
- Store the cooled cookies in the refrigerator to keep them crisp.
