Jule Kag(Norwegian)
Jule Kag is a traditional Norwegian Christmas bread filled with dried and candied fruits, flavored with cardamom. Perfect for festive gatherings and holiday celebrations.

- Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water.
- Pour scalded milk over the butter. Add yeast, sugar, 1/2 of the flour, and salt. Beat well for 10 minutes.
- Add beaten eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add the remaining flour along with currants, raisins, candied cherries, citron, and cardamom.
- Knead the dough and place it in a greased bowl to rise.
- Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Knead the dough again and let it rise until doubled.
- Shape into loaves and place into greased pans.
- Brush the tops with egg whites and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Brush the crust with melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon after baking.
