Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 2 medium sliced onions
  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 slices day-old bread
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 1 can Cheddar cheese soup

Instructions

  1. Mix the beaten eggs, cream of mushroom soup, milk, pepper, and poultry seasoning together in a bowl.
  2. Tear the bread into tiny crumbs and add to the mixture. Add the ground beef and blend well.
  3. Melt the shortening in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Spread the meat mixture into the skillet and shape it into a patty or spread evenly.
  5. Separate the sliced onions into rings and spread over the meat mixture.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook for 20 minutes over medium heat.
  7. In a separate bowl, stir the undiluted Cheddar cheese soup and spoon it over the cooked meat and onions.
  8. Cover and heat through for about 5 minutes.
  9. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
