Ingredients

  • 9-inch pastry crust
  • 0.5 lb bacon
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese
  • 1/3 cup finely minced onions
  • 0.5 clove finely minced garlic
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • parsley flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake the pastry crust until lightly golden, then set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy, then crumble and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, whipping cream, minced onions, and minced garlic. Mix well.
  4. Layer crumbled bacon and shredded cheese in the baked pastry shell.
  5. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the bacon and cheese in the shell.
  6. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 300°F (150°C).
  7. Continue baking until the top is lightly browned, about 15 more minutes.
  8. Let stand for 20 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley flakes if desired.
