Killer Ribs feature tender pork ribs glazed with a smoky peach barbecue sauce, combining warm spices and a sweet tang, perfect for cookouts and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 5 lb pork ribs
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp ground allspice
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp crushed hot red chilies
  • 3 dried bay leaves
  • 1 Tbsp dried basil leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 (1 lb) can sliced peaches
  • 1 (8 oz) bottle barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the ribs.
  2. Place the ribs in an 8 to 10-quart pan.
  3. Add chopped onion, ground cinnamon, dried basil leaves, ground allspice, ground ginger, crushed hot red chilies, bay leaves, and minced garlic.
  4. Fill the pan with water to cover the ribs.
  5. Bring to a boil on high heat.
  6. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 1 hour.
  7. Meanwhile, in a blender, puree the drained sliced peaches.
  8. Stir in barbecue sauce and remaining chilies into the peach puree.
  9. Drain the cooked ribs.
  10. Lay the ribs on a grill 4 to 6 inches above the coals.
  11. Baste frequently with the peach sauce and turn ribs as needed to develop a rich brown glaze, about 20 minutes.
  12. Add more sauce as needed during grilling and serve.
