A delightful fruit Kuchen with a buttery crust, sweet cinnamon-spiced fruit topping, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert with fresh or mixed berries and stone fruits.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 2 pt. prepared fruit
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Cut in margarine or butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the prepared fruit evenly over the crust.
  6. In a small bowl, mix 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the fruit.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
