Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (No. 303) can tomatoes (1 3/4 c.)
  • 26 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 c. Ricotta cheese
  • 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef and ground pork until browned. Drain off excess fat.
  2. Add minced garlic, chopped parsley, basil, salt, tomatoes, and tomato paste. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Combine Ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese. Add beaten eggs, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
  4. Pour a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread half of the mozzarella cheese over the noodles.
  7. Add a layer of meat sauce over the cheese.
  8. Repeat layers: noodles, cheese, sauce.
  9. Top with remaining lasagna noodles and sauce. Bake as desired.
