- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook macaroni shells according to package directions for 7 minutes; drain.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until beef is browned and onions are tender.
- Add spaghetti sauce to the cooked beef mixture and simmer for a few minutes.
- In a baking dish, layer the cooked shells, beef sauce, ricotta or cottage cheese, and chopped parsley.
- Repeat layers if necessary, ending with a layer of sauce and cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until bubbly and heated through.
