Ingredients

  • 10 oz. large shell pasta
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 15 1/2 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup Ricotta or small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni shells according to package directions for 7 minutes; drain.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until beef is browned and onions are tender.
  4. Add spaghetti sauce to the cooked beef mixture and simmer for a few minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, layer the cooked shells, beef sauce, ricotta or cottage cheese, and chopped parsley.
  6. Repeat layers if necessary, ending with a layer of sauce and cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until bubbly and heated through.
