Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. beef cubes
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 1/2 c. carrots (1/2 inch slices)
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 6 to 7 potatoes (1-inch chunks)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Minute tapioca
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 2 1/2 cans water

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven, layer beef cubes, chopped onion, carrots, chopped celery, potatoes, salt, pepper, sugar, tapioca, tomato soup, and water in order.
  2. Do not stir or mix the layers.
  3. Cover with lid and bake at 250°F for 5 hours.
  4. Do not open the oven during baking.
