Ingredients

  • 1 small head cut cabbage
  • sliced potatoes
  • sliced carrots
  • sliced onions
  • 4 or more pork steaks
  • canned corn
  • canned green beans
  • canned mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, layer the cut cabbage, sliced potatoes, sliced carrots, and sliced onions.
  3. Add any optional fresh vegetables you desire.
  4. Sear the pork steaks in a pan until browned, then place them on top of the vegetable layers.
  5. Add the canned or drained vegetables of your choice, such as corn, green beans, or mushrooms.
  6. Pour the canned or fresh stewed tomatoes over the entire casserole.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the pork is cooked through.
