Ingredients

  • 12 oz. cottage cheese
  • 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/8 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 32 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1/4 c. water
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix cottage cheese, shredded Mozzarella cheese, eggs, chopped parsley, onion powder, basil leaves, and pepper until well blended. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together spaghetti sauce and cooled ground beef.
  3. In a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish, spread 3/4 cup of meat sauce.
  4. Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
  5. Spread with cottage cheese mixture and about 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce.
  6. Layer 4 more noodles on top of the meat sauce.
  7. Spread with cottage cheese mixture and meat sauce.
  8. Repeat the layers one more time, ending with a meat sauce layer on top.
  9. Top with Parmesan cheese.
  10. Pour water around the edges of the casserole and cover tightly with foil.
  11. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes.
  12. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until noodles are tender.
  13. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
