Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 cup Ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 (8 oz.) package lasagna noodles
  • 1 (6 oz.) package Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large saucepan and drain.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic salt, and spaghetti sauce mix. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix Ricotta or cottage cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Spread a little of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the meat sauce, and half of the cheese mixture.
  6. Repeat the layering with remaining noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture.
  7. Top with the remaining meat sauce and sprinkle shredded Mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for one hour or until noodles are tender.
  9. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
