Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
  • 2 c. pumpkin
  • 2/3 c. applesauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease the bottom of the pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt with a fork.
  4. Add baking powder, pumpkin, applesauce, eggs or egg whites, and mix just until blended.
  5. Turn batter into pans.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool before slicing.
