- Mix together ground beef, 1 cup canned tomatoes, bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and chopped onion.
- Form the mixture into 12 large meatballs, about 3 inches in diameter.
- Wrap each meatball with a slice of bacon, overlapping the bacon carefully.
- Place the bacon-wrapped meatballs in a large, flat baking dish with the overlapped bacon on the bottom.
- Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 45 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
- Remove from oven and pour off excess bacon fat.
- Serve the meatballs with sour cream on the side or as a topping.
