Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • pineapple slices
  • cherries
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • yellow cake mix
  • nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine melted margarine and brown sugar and pour into a 9 x 12-inch cake pan.
  2. Arrange pineapple slices, cherries, and nuts on top of the sugar mixture.
  3. Prepare yellow cake mix according to the box instructions.
  4. Pour the cake batter over the pineapple and toppings, filling the pan two-thirds full.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes.
  6. Let stand in the pan for 5 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with whipped topping.
