Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • dash of salt
  • dash of baking powder
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Beat together butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add vanilla extract and blend well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, blending well.
  5. Stir in chopped pecans.
  6. Divide the dough into two balls.
  7. Wrap each in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  8. Flatten the dough and cut into 15 to 16 equal pieces.
  9. Shape each piece into small, marble-sized balls.
  10. Place the balls on ungreased cookie sheets.
  11. Bake at 375° to 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes until firm but not browned.
  12. While warm, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
