Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can French-style green beans
  • 1 can shoe peg corn
  • 1 small can green peas
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 small jar pimentos

Instructions

  1. Drain the canned vegetables and green peas.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, cooking oil, water, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Pour the hot marinade over the drained vegetables and green peas.
  4. Mix well to coat all ingredients evenly.
  5. Refrigerate the salad overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve chilled, and enjoy the flavorful, marinated vegetable salad.
