Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. spareribs
  • 1 slice onion
  • water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place spareribs in a pan.
  3. Add a slice of onion and cover with water.
  4. Simmer for 50 minutes.
  5. Drain the ribs and place them in an ovenproof baking dish to chill.
  6. Mix the sugar, cornstarch, curry powder, and ground cloves.
  7. Add boiling water, cider vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic to the mixture.
  8. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and boiling.
  9. Pour the sauce over the ribs and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
