Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter‑flavored Crisco
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small package vanilla pudding mix (Jello Cook & Serve)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese, sugar, and butter‑flavored Crisco at high speed with a mixer.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract, lemon extract, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Fold in the prepared vanilla pudding mix, all-purpose flour, and buttermilk until the batter is smooth.
  5. Grease a bundt or tube pan and pour the batter in.
  6. Bake at 300°F for 1 hour and 30 minutes, checking for doneness at 1 hour and 20 minutes.
