Ingredients

  • 3 large onions
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1/4 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 2 lb. beef
  • 1 c. dry red wine
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder

Instructions

  1. Saute onions in oil until tender.
  2. Add caraway seed, marjoram, salt, and paprika moistened with vinegar.
  3. Mix with onions.
  4. Pour in red wine.
  5. Cover tightly and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
  6. If necessary, add water sparingly during cooking.
  7. Serve with noodles.
