Pecan Spread

Creamy pecan spread combines savory dried beef, tangy sour cream, and crunchy toasted pecans, perfect for spreading on Melba toast for a flavorful appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 (2 1/2 oz.) pkg. dried beef
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green onions
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • Melba toast

Instructions

  1. Drop dried beef into a small pan of boiling water; remove from stove and drain well in a strainer.
  2. Run it under cold water and chop finely to remove excess salt from the beef.
  3. Mix softened cream cheese, milk, white pepper, chopped green onions, and garlic powder together and blend well.
  4. Add 1/2 cup sour cream and mix until smooth.
  5. Toast chopped pecans with 2 tablespoons of butter until golden.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture into a small baking dish; sprinkle toasted pecans on top.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes.
  8. Serve with Melba toast.
