Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using a mix of meats like chicken and beef. If you don't have fat, butter or olive oil can work as substitutes. To make the coating extra crispy, you can double-dip the croquettes in the egg wash and breadcrumbs. For a vegetarian twist, try replacing the meat with finely chopped vegetables or use a store-bought meat substitute. These croquettes pair wonderfully with a dipping sauce.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the meat croquettes with a side of creamy mashed potatoes or a fresh salad for a balanced meal. They also pair excellently with a tangy dipping sauce, such as aioli or marinara. For a delightful appetizer, serve them alongside Oatmeal Custard for dessert, creating a satisfying dining experience.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover croquettes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10-15 minutes until heated through and crispy again. Alternatively, they can be reheated in an air fryer for a few minutes to restore their crunch.
