- Melt Crisco in a skillet.
- Cut the steak into small cubes and dredge in flour seasoned with salt and pepper.
- Add the steak to the skillet and brown on all sides.

- Transfer the steak and onions to a casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic salt over the mixture.
- Pour 2 cups of water over the ingredients.
- Cover the casserole and bake in a 350°F oven for about 50 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and place the sliced potatoes on top.
- Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and paprika.
- Increase oven temperature to 450°F.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes until potatoes are golden.
