Ingredients

  • 1 c. oil
  • 9 cloves garlic
  • 3 large onion
  • 3 green peppers
  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 3 cans tomato paste (12 oz.)
  • 3 cans tomato sauce (1 lb. 3 oz.)
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. sage
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. A.1. sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. chili sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onions, chopped green peppers (if using), and minced garlic; cook until vegetables are tender.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, and hot water.
  5. Add celery salt, garlic salt, chili powder, salt, paprika, oregano, parsley flakes, and sage.
  6. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, A.1. sauce, and chili sauce.
  7. Simmer uncovered for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, to develop flavors.
  8. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Serve hot over cooked pasta.
