Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix thoroughly the ground beef, uncooked long grain rice, 1/3 cup water, chopped onion, salt, celery salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into well-rounded tablespoon-sized meatballs and place them in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  4. Stir together the tomato sauce and 1 cup water; pour over the meatballs.
  5. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, optionally with pasta.
