- Insert strips of pork fat lengthwise into the beef.
- Place the meat, laurel leaf, tomato sauce, vinegar, salt to taste, and water to cover in a deep pot or pan.

- When most of the broth has evaporated and the potatoes are cooked, add the fat strips and stir well.
