Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Beat margarine at medium speed.
  2. Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
  7. Stir in chopped pecans.
  8. Shape dough into 2 (16-inch) rolls, wrap in wax paper and chill at least 4 hours.
  9. Cut into 1/3-inch slices.
  10. Place slices on ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Bake at 375°F for 6 to 8 minutes.
  12. Cool on wire racks.
