Ingredients

  • 3 medium heads shredded cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. vinegar
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 green peppers
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 bunch celery and leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Add cabbage and salt to a large bowl and let stand for 2 hours.
  2. Meanwhile, boil sugar, vinegar, and water for 5 minutes and then let cool.
  3. Squeeze the cabbage dry to remove excess liquid.
  4. Add the cooled vinegar mixture, green peppers, mustard seed, chopped celery and leaves to the cabbage.
  5. Mix well and refrigerate before serving.
