Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1/3 cup golden raisins
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • dash ground cloves
  • dash ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup sliced pimiento-stuffed olives

Instructions

  1. Cook and stir ground beef, chopped onion, chopped garlic, and crushed red pepper in a 10-inch skillet until beef is light brown. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes, chopped green pepper, raisins, salt, chili powder, ground cumin, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan, cook and stir slivered almonds over medium heat until golden, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Stir toasted almonds and sliced pimiento-stuffed olives into the beef mixture.
  5. Serve hot with rice.
