Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 medium can whole tomatoes in tomato paste
  • 1 c. white wine
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 lb. shrimp, peeled and cleaned

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large saucepan.
  2. Saute chopped onions and green bell pepper until soft.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook briefly.
  4. Add canned whole tomatoes in tomato paste and white wine to the pan.
  5. Season with ground cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
  7. Add peeled and cleaned shrimp to the sauce.
  8. Simmer for about 20 minutes, until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
