Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. cooked raisins
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries, cut up
  • 1 c. grapes, seeded and cut up
  • 1/2 lb. dates, cut up
  • 1 c. crushed black walnuts
  • 1 c. crushed English walnuts
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and shortening.
  2. Add eggs and beat well.
  3. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  4. Fold in cooked raisins, maraschino cherries, grapes, dates, crushed black walnuts, and crushed English walnuts.
  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for about 10 minutes.
  7. Check cookies to see if they are done and remove from oven.
