Delicious microwave toffee squares feature crunchy graham crackers, rich chocolate chips, and nutty topping, creating a sweet, buttery treat perfect for sharing or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 9 graham cracker squares
  • 1/2 cup butter or oleo
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Microwave 1 tablespoon of oleo in an 8x8-inch dish on High until melted.
  2. Spread the melted oleo over the bottom and up the sides of the dish by about 1/4 inch.
  3. Line the bottom of the dish with graham cracker squares.
  4. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of oleo and brown sugar.
  5. Microwave on High for 1 minute.
  6. Beat until smooth and microwave for 2 more minutes on High.
  7. Pour the mixture evenly over the graham crackers and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  8. Microwave at full power for 1 1/2 to 3 minutes, or until the mixture boils for 1 minute, rotating 1/4 turn every 30 seconds.
  9. Allow to cool for 2 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  11. When the chocolate is soft, spread it to frost the bars.
  12. Allow the bars to cool completely.
  13. Cut into quarters.
  14. Remove each quarter and cut into small pieces.
  15. Store in the refrigerator for a crisp toffee.
