Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • pinch of ground red pepper
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 (8 oz.) packages refrigerated crescent rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine ground beef, onion soup mix, and ground red pepper in a skillet and cook over medium-high heat until browned.
  3. Drain off any excess fat.
  4. Add grated Cheddar cheese and stir until melted, about 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let filling cool slightly.
  6. Unroll crescent rolls and cut each into four squares.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each crescent square.
  8. Fold and seal the edges to form pockets.
  9. Place empanadas on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
