Mom's crabcakes feature tender crabmeat blended with seasoned bread, mustard, and herbs, then browned to perfection. A savory, crowd-pleasing dish perfect for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb crabmeat
  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 tsp wet mustard
  • 1 tsp finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup egg beater
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp green pepper
  • 3 drops hot sauce
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Trim and cube the bread, then mix with crabmeat.
  2. Add all other ingredients: wet mustard, chopped onion, egg or egg beater, Worcestershire, mayonnaise, green pepper, hot sauce, parsley, and Old Bay seasoning if desired.
  3. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour or more.
  4. Shape into patties and brown in a skillet.
  5. Cook for approximately 20 minutes until done.
