Ingredients

  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 oz.) package frozen peas
  • 2 cups mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, layer shredded iceberg lettuce, finely chopped green pepper, chopped celery, and chopped onion twice.
  2. Top the layered vegetables with a layer of uncooked frozen peas.
  3. Cover the entire salad with mayonnaise or salad dressing.
  4. Sprinkle sugar evenly over the top.
  5. Add a layer of shredded mild Cheddar cheese.
  6. Top with bacon bits.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.
