Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 bar German sweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Beat all ingredients except chocolate at full speed for 7 to 8 minutes.
  2. Grate the German sweet chocolate and fold into the batter.
  3. Grease a pan and pour the batter into it.
  4. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
