A hearty casserole combining tender sliced potatoes, savory ground beef, and melted cheese, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 medium potatoes
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup grated cheese (American or Cheddar)
  • 1 can mushroom soup (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pare and slice the potatoes.
  2. Place the sliced potatoes in the bottom of a casserole dish.
  3. Slice the onion and layer it on top of the potatoes.
  4. Spread the ground beef evenly over the top of the potatoes and onions.
  5. Optional: spread mushroom soup over the beef.
  6. Sprinkle grated cheese over the top.
  7. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 1 hour or until done.
