Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 can green peas, drained
  • 2 cups salad dressing
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Wash, drain, and chop the lettuce.
  2. Thinly slice the red onion.
  3. Dice the bell pepper.
  4. Chop the celery.
  5. Drain the can of green peas.
  6. Slice the water chestnuts.
  7. In a bowl, mix the salad dressing with sugar until dissolved.
  8. Layer the ingredients in a glass dish starting with lettuce, then red onion, bell pepper, celery, water chestnuts, peas, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  9. Pour the dressing mixture over the layered ingredients.
  10. Sprinkle bacon bits on top before serving.
