Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey or ground chuck
  • 2 cans refried beans
  • 1 lb. shredded cheese (Colby and/or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 pkg. taco mix
  • 1 jar picante sauce (12 oz., mild or hot)
  • jalapeno peppers (optional)
  • tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ground turkey or ground chuck as directed on the taco mix package.
  2. Spread refried beans evenly on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch dish.
  3. Layer the cooked meat mixture over the beans, then spread with grated cheese.
  4. Spread picante sauce evenly over the top.
  5. Top with jalapeno peppers, if desired.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  7. Serve with tortilla chips.
