Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar with beaten eggs.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
  3. Add melted butter and milk.
  4. Beat up quickly and bake in large buttered 9 x 13-inch pan in a very hot oven (400°) for 20 to 25 minutes.
  5. This makes 1 large pan which will cut into 21 squares.
