Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 7 cups apples, coarsely chopped
  • 3/4 cup walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream together oleo and sugars.
  2. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; mix thoroughly.
  4. Stir in coarsely chopped apples and walnuts.
  5. Spoon batter into a greased 10-inch Bundt or tube pan (or a 9 x 13-inch pan).
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out almost clean.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes; then turn onto a serving dish.
  8. When completely cooled, dust with powdered sugar.
  9. Refrigerate leftovers.
