Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread, crusts removed and cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed pasteurized process cheese spread
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 6 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 pint light cream

Instructions

  1. Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
  2. Layer bread cubes, half of the pasteurized process cheese spread, half of the Cheddar cheese, drained mushrooms, and the remaining cheeses.
  3. Melt the butter.
  4. Add the beaten eggs and light cream to the melted butter and mix well.
  5. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the layered ingredients in the casserole.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 1 hour in a pan of water.
