Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, margarine or shortening
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup raisins, chopped
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 4 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients into a dough.
  2. Form into a roll at night.
  3. Refrigerate the dough overnight.
  4. In the morning, slice the roll into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes until golden.
